We stayed in chicken coop View cottage. Amazing long weekend Tina and her son in law are so friendly and welcoming a welcome cake was waiting for us with wine and chocolates we will be back in the summer our little boy was in tears when we left as he wanted to stay forever could not fault this stay at all.
Had a wonderful week with our dog Charlie, beautiful cottage and land to explore. Very reasonable price and the home made cake, free range eggs and flowers were much appreciated.
Can’t wait to go back!
What a wonderful stay we’ve had at Chicken Coop Cottage! Two of us, plus his Lordship (the pooch) really enjoyed our stay in this lovely, cosy and clean cottage. The views are incredible with fabulous surroundings such as the orchard, the river and of course the neighbouring field which is home to three gorgeous ponies – Ginger, Sweep and Biscuit. What a delight they are! Should you stay at the cottage make sure you have plenty of apples and carrots – you will be “asked” for them as soon as you enjoy the garden.
The cottage is located in a great location for visits to the Scottish Borders and I urge you to visit Kielder Forest for outstanding scenery!

Spent a week here end July/August. First few days on our own and then the grandchildren joined us. There was a lovely homemade cake and eggs from the chickens to welcome us. The cottage was equipped with practically everything you need. Only small thing was lack of drawers and the shower which was part of the bath tap had no hook or curtain so was difficult to take a shower. There were three ponies as next door neighbours and they appeared and knocked on the gate every morning for their daily feed of carrots and apples. There was a table tennis table and trampoline in the barns and you could walk through the orchard down to the river. There are some great places to go close by including a visit to Scotland less than 20miles away. We are looking forward to returning in the winter to make use of the wood burner.
